CFFE Statement: Tipped Workers Protection Act To Appear On November Ballot

PHOENIX, AZ – Citizens for Free Enterprise released the following statement in response to the Arizona State Legislature sending the Tipped Workers Protection Act to appear on the November ballot:

“The Tipped Workers Protection Act will ensure that Arizona’s local restaurants, and their employees, continue to thrive,” said JP Twist, Executive Director of Citizens for Free Enterprise. “We have already seen how removal of tip credit in other areas has hurt the industry and led to job losses. Now, Arizona voters will have the opportunity to support Arizona’s service industry by approving the Tipped Workers Protection Act.”

This comes as Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump announced a new plan that would exempt tips from federal income taxes. The plan would raise take-home pay for workers in the service industry.
