On the Ground: CFFE Volunteers Knock Doors Across Wisconsin Ahead of November Election

Election Day is less than three weeks away, and Citizens for Free Enterprise's Wisconsin field team isn't wasting any time.

Across the state, our staff and volunteers are out knocking on doors, meeting voters and listening to their thoughts about what's at stake when they head to the polls on November 3.

It's a busy time for our team, and the work is only picking up as Election Day gets closer.

Taking Free Enterprise to the Front Door

Wisconsin voters have plenty to think about this election season. From the cost of groceries and housing to taxes and the challenges facing local businesses, economic issues are part of everyday life.

Those are exactly the kinds of issues our field team is asking about when visiting voters' doorsteps.

For Citizens for Free Enterprise, knocking doors is about more than reminding people there's an election coming up. It's a chance for voters to share how they are affected by government policies and how these policies affect Wisconsin workers, families and business owners.

A conversation on someone's front porch might not make the evening news, but it can do something a television commercial can't: give voters an opportunity to ask questions, share their concerns and have a genuine exchange about the issues.

The Work Behind the Knock

Anyone who's spent an afternoon canvassing knows there's more to it than walking up to a door and ringing the bell.

There are neighborhoods to cover, routes to plan and plenty of miles to walk. Some doors go unanswered. Others lead to conversations that last much longer than expected. And occasionally, the most enthusiastic greeting comes from the family dog.

It's not glamorous work, and it certainly isn't always easy. But it's an important part of connecting with voters who might otherwise tune out the noise of election season.

And as November 3 approaches, those efforts are increasingly focused on making sure voters know when and how to cast their ballots.

Three Weeks to Go

Wisconsin's next governor and other elected leaders will have a hand in shaping the state's economic future. The policies they pursue will affect everything from the cost of doing business to the opportunities available for Wisconsin workers and families.

That's why Citizens for Free Enterprise is committed to listening to the concerns of Wisconsin voters as communities prepare for the midterm elections.

We're grateful to the volunteers who are giving their time, the field staff putting in long days and the Wisconsinites willing to open their doors and talk with us.

There's still plenty of ground to cover between now and November 3.

And we'll be out there knocking.
